TO: The Gustavus Community
FROM: Campus Safety
SUBJECT: Timely Warning
DATE: November 11, 2016

On Friday, November 11, 2016, Campus Safety received a third party report of incidents of sexual misconduct that have been ongoing since at least September 2016.

The reporter’s acquaintance has informed the reporter of behaviors perpetrated by the acquaintance’s previous intimate partner that were described by the reporter as physical violence, sexual violence and psychological and emotional violence. The victim and alleged perpetrator have been identified and the case has been referred to the Title IX Coordinator.

While it appears the behavior is directed toward one victim, it has not been determined at this time whether other victims could be experiencing the same behaviors. Anyone that is experiencing similar behaviors can contact the Title IX Coordinator, Julie Kline (x6075) or the Sexual Assault Response Team (933-6868) for assistance.

All members of the campus community are expected to conduct themselves in a manner that does not infringe upon the rights of others. Members of the College community, guests, and visitors have the right to be free from sexual violence, which includes sexual misconduct.

Anyone with additional information about this incident or a similar incident is encouraged to contact Campus Safety (x8888) or the Title IX Coordinator, Julie Kline (x6075).
