Subject: Bias Incident: Request for information as part of an investigation

At approximately 12 a.m. on Tuesday, September 20, 2016, a Gustavus student was walking on Ring Road toward Rundstrom Hall when a car with two passengers approached. One of the individuals in the car was wearing a baseball hat. An individual in the car yelled a homophobic slur directed at the walking student.

The car is described as a black four-door SUV with a red Gustavus parking sticker on the back bumper.

The College Bias Response Team (BRT) strongly encourages anyone with any information about this incident or the vehicle in question to please contact Campus Safety (507-933-8888) or the Dean of Students office (507-933-7526) immediately.

Hate and bias motivated behavior are violations of College policy and will not be tolerated.

Campus Safety encourages individuals who may be targeted to take notice of vehicle identifying characteristics (e.g. Gustavus parking permit and number, make/model/color of car, license plate number, and snap a picture if possible) and report these incidents to Campus Safety immediately.
