Subject: Timely Warning — Fondling
Date: September 6, 2016

On Monday, September 5, 2016, Campus Safety received a third-party report of an incident of sexual misconduct (fondling) that occurred on Saturday, September 3, 2016. The report indicated that while dancing at the Dive dance, an unidentified man rubbed his penis against the victim and would not stop when asked to.

All members of the campus community are expected to conduct themselves in a manner that does not infringe upon the rights of others. Members of the College community, guests, and visitors have the right to be free from sexual violence, which includes sexual misconduct. Gustavus sponsors many events throughout the year in an effort to provide the campus community with activities, programs, and resources that enhance the quality of student life. Behavior as described in this report threatens our community and devalues the activities and programs. Bystander intervention is one of the most effective ways of reducing incidents that victimize our students.

Anyone with additional information about this incident or a similar incident is encouraged to contact Campus Safety (x8888) or the Title IX Coordinator, Julie Kline (x6075).
