On Dec. 13, 2015, a mandated reporter contacted Campus Safety to report an acquaintance rape that occurred in a campus residence hall. It was also shared that an advocate from CADA was assisting the student and a report had been made to the Saint Peter Police. The identity of the perpetrator was shared. The College followed its own written protocols for response.

On Feb. 2, 2016, an article in a newspaper indicated the possibility of a second victim in the assault. On Feb. 9, 2016, the College confirmed that a second victim had come forward in the Dec. 13, 2015 incident. The same perpetrator was identified.

The Nicollet County Attorney’s Office has charged the perpetrator with two counts of criminal sexual conduct through its formal complaint process. Formal complaints, once filed with the court, are considered public data and can be accessed by visiting the Nicollet County Courthouse.

The College initiated a formal investigation after the first report and will continue with its investigative process for the second assault reported.
