Student Parking Permits Posted on June 18th, 2012 by

Students who wish to park a vehicle on campus must obtain a student parking permit by registering with the Department of Campus Safety.

Online vehicle registration is available now until August 27th  at the Campus Safety web page:

The student parking permit fee for 2012-2013 is $230.   Students will need their Gustavus user name and password, along with the vehicle license plate and information (make, color, type) in order to complete the online form. Students who register online will find their parking permit in their campus mailbox on August 31st.  $230 will be charged to their student account in September.  Students may register ONE vehicle.  If a permit holder changes vehicles during the academic year, they will need to return their sticker to register the new vehicle and receive a replacement sticker ($10 charge).  Studying abroad?  Return your sticker to Campus Safety for a credit for the unused Spring portion by January 15th; or purchase your sticker in February when classes begin in the Spring for the 2nd semester price.

Permit lot enforcement begins 7am on Tuesday, September 4th (the first day of classes).  Visitor parking is closed to students and staff and is always enforced.  Vehicles parked on campus without a valid parking permit, or parked in the wrong designated lot will receive a parking ticket for each day of non-registration or being parked in the wrong lot. Students are responsible for knowing the campus parking and traffic regulations at

Bicycles parked on campus need to be registered with the Department of Campus Safety.  There is no charge for registration, but non-registered and unsecured bicycles can be picked up and owners will be charged fees. Review the campus bicycle regulations online:
