From: Jeff Stocco, Vice President for Student Life and Dean of Students

I want to update you on the continuing investigation pertaining to the two attempted sexual assaults reported on our campus last month.  The Saint Peter Police Department and Campus Safety received nine “tips” from the Gustavus Silent Witness program and from anonymous calls to Gustavus Campus Safety.  From those leads, detectives personally interviewed six males, all of whom were cleared from suspicions based upon alibis and other physical factors. In addition, Campus Safety received several reports of suspicious activity on campus over the last month.  In each case, Campus Safety personnel responded to the report and St. Peter Police investigated, concluding that there was no link to the initial attempted sexual assaults.

The Saint Peter Police Department and Campus Safety encourage all members of the Gustavus Community to be very vigilant and aware of their surroundings when they travel in and around the campus. We appreciate and encourage any and all information concerning suspicious activity to be immediately reported to Campus Safety or the Saint Peter Police Department.
