The following is a brief update on the assaults reported on campus this weekend. The first was reported to have occurred near the Interpretive Center at about 1:30 a.m. Saturday, March 5. The second incident occurred near Nobel Hall Sunday night at about 8:30 p.m.
These matters are being actively investigated by Campus Safety and the St. Peter Police Department. Campus Safety is deploying increased personnel to assist in heightened patrolling on campus.
The safety of the campus community is of critical importance. President Ohle has been working closely with senior College leadership, Director of Campus Safety Ray Thrower, and Student Affairs staff to respond to the incidents.
Today at 5 p.m. in Alumni Hall, all students, faculty, and staff are invited an open forum to receive further updates and to ask questions.
Tips to stay safe:
-Travel in groups.
-Lock doors behind you.
-Don’t prop doors open.
-Be aware of your surroundings.
-Be aware that you can be easily distracted by headphones or cell phones.
